Alka Sood is an independent consultant with twenty years of management consulting and management accounting experience.  Ms. Sood specialises in economic cost analysis and telecommunications regulatory policy and has extensive international expertise having worked in Canada, the Asia/Pacific region and South Africa.  Ms Sood is owner and President of  a Durham Region based management consultancy practice, Cogna Management Solutions Inc. and was formerly senior manager for Deloitte Consulting in both Toronto and Hong Kong.

Ms. Sood’s professional background is in regulatory economics, finance, management accounting and business process management.  She has advised regulators and operators in both the wireline and wireless markets.  Her functional expertise includes interconnection, price controls, accounting separations, and universal services. In addition, Ms Sood has worked extensively in the area of customer and product profitability reporting, having managed several engagements involving development of activity based and network costing models, profitability and performance measurement reporting, and costing systems.

Ms. Sood holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary (Canada), a Master in Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.

Ms. Sood’s professional designations include a Certified Management Accounting designation with the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario (Canada).
